About the Role

Learning & Development Strategy

Develop and execute the organization's Learning & Development strategy aligned with business objectives.
Prepare annual training plans and budgets.
Develop learning roadmaps for retail stores, distribution centers, and support functions.

Training Needs Analysis

Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments.
Identify competency gaps and future capability requirements.
Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into learning initiatives.
Design targeted learning solutions to address performance and skill gaps.

Retail Academy Development

Develop structured learning pathways for:
Area Managers and Store Managers
Department Supervisors
Cashiers
Customer Service Teams
Warehouse and Logistics Teams
Head Office Employees

Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

Develop leadership programs to build future leaders.
Create succession pipelines for key business-critical positions.
Implement coaching and mentoring frameworks.
Support career development planning and talent acceleration initiatives.

Learning Program Management

Oversee the design and delivery of training programs including:
Customer Service Excellence
Operational Excellence
Product Knowledge
Compliance and Regulatory Training
Health & Safety
Measure training effectiveness and learning outcomes.

Learning Technology & Analytics

Develop digital learning content and e-learning platforms.
Utilize learning analytics and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
Maintain training records and compliance tracking.

Employee Engagement & Culture

Promote knowledge-sharing and continuous learning practices.
Support employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Coordinate development programs that strengthen employer branding.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Manage relationships with internal and external training providers.
Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements.
Ensure cost-effective training solutions and optimal return on investment.

Performance & Succession Management

Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and career pathways.
Integrate learning initiatives with performance management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, Education, or a higher diploma in related field
A professional qualification in HR/L&D (CIPD, SHRM, CHRM, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, preferably within the retail, FMCG, or multi-site business environment.
