The rules that govern access to and use of the hire.lk talent marketplace, employer workspaces, job listings, subscriptions, and related services.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and HIRE.LK WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS (PRIVATE) LIMITED ("hire.lk", "we", "our", or "us"), governing your access to and use of the hire.lk website, mobile applications, and all associated services (collectively, the "Platform").

By registering an account, clicking "I Agree", or otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you access the Platform on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

1. Definitions

Platform

The hire.lk website, applications, and related services.

Candidate

An individual using hire.lk to build a profile and apply for work.

Employer / Recruiter

A company workspace or authorized user managing hiring activity.

Content

Profiles, resumes, job posts, images, data, and other submitted material.

"User" means any individual or entity accessing the Platform, including Candidates, Employers, Recruiters, and visitors. "Subscription" means a paid plan purchased by an Employer granting access to premium Platform features. "Account" means a registered user account providing authenticated access to the Platform.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age, be a resident of or operate from Sri Lanka or otherwise have the legal right to use the Platform in your jurisdiction, provide accurate and current registration information, and not have been previously suspended or terminated for violating these Terms. We reserve the right to refuse access to any person or entity at our sole discretion.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

You may register using an email address and password, or by authenticating through a supported social login provider such as Google, Facebook, GitHub, LinkedIn, or X. You agree to provide truthful and accurate information and keep your account details up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your Account. Choose a strong password, do not share it, notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access, and log out after using shared or public devices.

3.3 One Account Per User

Each individual may maintain only one Candidate account. Employers may operate one company workspace per registered business entity. Duplicate accounts created to circumvent restrictions or suspensions are prohibited.

4. Candidate-Specific Terms

Candidates may create professional profiles containing work experience, education, skills, qualifications, resumes, portfolio materials, and other career information. You represent that your submitted information is truthful, accurate, not misleading, and that you own or have the right to use uploaded content.

Profile visibility

You control visibility through privacy settings. Published profiles may be discoverable by verified Employers and Recruiters.

Job applications

When you apply, relevant profile and application data is shared with the Employer. hire.lk does not guarantee employment outcomes.

Resume parsing

Uploaded resumes may be processed to extract profile data. Parsed results should be reviewed and corrected before publishing.

5. Employer and Recruiter-Specific Terms

Employers must apply for and receive approval before accessing full employer features. Once approved, a company workspace is provisioned. The Company Owner is responsible for all activity within that workspace, including the conduct of invited Recruiter and Hiring Manager users.

5.1 Job Postings

By submitting a job posting, you represent that the position is genuine, currently open, accurately described, compliant with applicable Sri Lankan employment laws, and not used to collect candidate data without genuine hiring intent. hire.lk may remove postings that violate these Terms or that we determine are inappropriate.

5.2 Candidate Data Usage

Candidate profile and application data may only be used for legitimate recruitment and hiring purposes directly related to the relevant role. Employers and Recruiters must not use candidate data for unrelated purposes, sell or transfer candidate data to unauthorized third parties, send unsolicited commercial communications, or retain candidate data beyond the period reasonably necessary for recruitment.

5.3 Role-Based Access

Company workspace access is governed by roles assigned by the Company Owner or Admin, such as Owner, Admin, Recruiter, Hiring Manager, and Recruiter Viewer. Company Owners must ensure access is granted only to authorized personnel and reviewed as team membership changes.

6. Free and Paid Plans

Plan / billing topic Terms
Free tier Provides access to limited Platform features. Availability, inclusions, and usage limits may change with reasonable notice of material changes.
Paid subscriptions Premium features require payment of applicable fees and accurate billing information. Fees are quoted in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) unless otherwise stated.
Renewals and cancellations Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or stated in a written agreement. Billing errors should be reported within 14 days.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms.

You must not use the Platform to

  • Post false, fraudulent, or misleading content.
  • Impersonate any person, organization, or entity.
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other third-party rights.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against any individual or group.
  • Gain unauthorized access to systems or user accounts.
  • Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or similar tools without written authorization.
  • Disrupt Platform integrity, introduce harmful code, or send spam.
  • Circumvent access restrictions, feature limits, or subscription gating.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, software, code, features, branding, logos, trademarks, and content created or provided by hire.lk, is the exclusive intellectual property of HIRE.LK WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS (PRIVATE) LIMITED or its licensors. You receive only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose during the term of your Account.

You retain ownership of Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant hire.lk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, process, and use your Content solely to operate, maintain, improve, and provide the Platform. Feedback may be used by hire.lk for any purpose without compensation or attribution.

9. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Platform integrates with third-party services including social login providers, payment processors, and analytics tools. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Links to external websites do not constitute endorsement by hire.lk.

10. Suspension and Termination

You may close your Account at any time through account settings or by contacting [email protected]. hire.lk may suspend or terminate your Account if we determine that you have violated these Terms, posted fraudulent or misleading content, harmed users or hire.lk, failed to pay Subscription amounts due, provided false information, or violated applicable law.

Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Termination does not release obligations incurred before termination, including payment obligations. Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution, will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, hire.lk disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, accuracy, completeness, reliability, and suitability for your requirements.

hire.lk does not endorse any Candidate, Employer, job posting, or recruitment outcome. The Platform is a marketplace and intermediary only; hire.lk is not a party to any employment relationship or contract formed through the Platform.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, hire.lk and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of employment, business, revenue, profit, data, goodwill, unauthorized access to Content, or third-party conduct on the Platform.

Liability cap

hire.lk's total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform will not exceed the greater of the amount paid by you to hire.lk in the twelve months preceding the claim, or LKR 5,000. Nothing limits liability where prohibited by law, including fraud, willful misconduct, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless hire.lk and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform in violation of these Terms, your Content, your violation of law, or disputes between you and another Platform user.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy regarding personal data handling, the Privacy Policy prevails.

15. Modifications to the Platform and Terms

hire.lk may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Platform at any time. We may also update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email or prominent Platform notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict of law principles. Before commencing formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact hire.lk at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution. We will endeavor to respond within 14 business days. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

17. General Provisions

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms for specific features or Subscriptions, constitute the entire agreement between you and hire.lk regarding the Platform. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. Nothing creates a partnership, agency, franchise, joint venture, or employment relationship. hire.lk is not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. These Terms are drafted in English, and the English version prevails over any translation conflict.
