About the Role
Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes, including:
Reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Managing monthly prepayments and accruals
Recording payroll accruals, including leave entitlement
Monitor and analyze monthly overhead variances and cost allocations (e.g., rent, insurance, depreciation), and investigate any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with statutory and external obligations, including BAS, deferred GST on imports, FBT, transfer pricing, and PAYG.
Prepare and finalize tax workpapers, including reconciliation between accounting and taxable profit, with appropriate supporting documentation.
Maintain and update fixed asset registers, ensuring accurate useful lives and depreciation rates.
Process accounting entries related to asset acquisitions and disposals.
Support audit readiness by preparing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
Provide ongoing support to the senior finance team as required.
